Watch: Wong Kar-wai returns to directing with short film

 

Prominent Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai has returned to the director’s chair after a seven-year hiatus. In 2013, he directed his last feature film 'The Grandmaster'

According to reports, the new short film was developed for Mercedes Benz China for upcoming Lunar New Year on Friday, February 12. 

Clocking in at six and a half minutes, the film is peppered with Wong Kar-wai's special trademarks- romance, rain and a vibrant color palette.

The North American vinyl release of the soundtrack from his most acclaimed film, In The Mood For Love, was also released this week, on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
